Adoption Timeline

1996- first dreamed of adopting from China

March 2007- Married!

July 2008- started trying to get pregnant

August 2009- fertility testing

September 2009- discovered our only medical option was IVF. We decided not to pursue it.

Fall 2009- researched adoption options. Very excited, having wanted to pursue adoption anyway.

Winter/Spring 2010- adopted embryos (www.adoptembryos.org)

May 2010- first "cycle". Lost all 6 of our embryos in the thaw process

Fall 2010- adopt again

December 2010- after a second cycle the first results were negative but the next results came back positive!

January 2011- miscarriage

July 2011- third "cycle", pregnant!

September 2011- second miscarriage

September 2012- we decide to give our last two embryos back to the agency

November 2012- apply to adopt a sweet little boy in China. Also we agree to adopt a baby being born to a young single mother whom we know

February 2013- birth mother decides at birth to parent her child

July 2013- dossier finally sent to China!

August 2013- fastest letter of approval EVER!

December 2013- meet and bring home our son
