It's been a little crazy around
here this week! After the two week frenzy of cookie-baking to fill the orders
from our neighbors, I finally put away the cooling racks that had graced our kitchen
countertops. Our neighbors have been so generous and amazing in their support
that it took us 12 batches to fill their orders. Meanwhile, the local news had
come to do a story on Isaac and his endeavors. A few weeks passed and I thought
they forgot about it or that they didn't want to run it. I didn't blame them, I
didn't think it was of interest outside our community. It went out of my mind,
too, as daily life moved on at the running pace of the holidays. Tuesday we
found out it had aired and a neighbor sent me the link to the story. She posted
it to our neighborhood page and another neighbor posted it to her personal
page. From there it spread, and at this moment Isaac's project has brought in
$2588 from donations and cookie sales. Our GoFundMe page has had 138 shares.
Cookie batch number 20 is in the oven right now to help fill the 24 different
orders that have come in since Tuesday. We're amazed and humbled at the
generosity and goodness of our friends, community, and even strangers. Still I
have not posted all this myself, it has all come through others' shares. Thank
you, and thank you.
Here's the news story...

So, the reason for all of this
is a little boy who belongs with us. He will be 5 soon and still he has never
had a mom and dad. (Mama and Baba in Chinese.) He is among many other children,
mostly boys, who wait and wait for a family.
I'd like to introduce you to
Samuel…
The nanny says he is one of the
most gentle boys she has known and he has a soft and tender personality. They
named him after the word for kindness. We are so anxious to meet him!
Meanwhile, we will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Samuel, we're coming for you soon!
